Clear Bags Clarified: Clear Bag Policy for NFL Stadiums and CMA Festival

We sometimes get questions from football fans asking exactly what are the rules to get into an NFL stadium for a football game or other event like a concert.  For example country music fans have been wondering what are the rules to get into LP Field for the upcoming CMA Festival (Fan Fair) in Nashville, which is held at LP Field.

The details of the NFL clear bag policy are as follows:

First, if you do want to bring a bag, you have two options -- a clear tote bag, or a small not-clear (opaque) clutch-sized bag.

  • If you opt for a clear tote bag, it cannot measure more than 12 x 12 x 6 inches and needs to be clear on all sides.  We have many compliant bags on our web site here.

Some examples of allowed bags are below.  They can all be found here.

  • If you opt for a non-clear bag, make sure it doesn't measure more than 4.5 inches x 6 inches.

Finally, they would prefer you don't bring a bag at all.  There are no rules about how big the pockets can be on your coat, cargo pants, etc. so you can stuff all you want into your clothing.
